Η είδηση του θανάτου του σπουδαίου Mark Lanegan σε ηλικία 57 ετών, όπως ήταν αναμενόμενο έπεσε ως κεραυνός εν αιθρία στον καλλιτεχνικό κόσμο.

Ιδιαίτερη μνεία οφείλει να γίνει στο μήνυμα του Iggy Pop που δήλωσε εαυτόν οπαδό του Lanegan, στη συγκινητική αποκάλυψη από πλευράς Cult Of Luna του ευχαριστήριου μηνύματος που έλαβαν από τον μουσικό με αφορμή τη συνεργασία τους στο "The Raging River", καθώς και των εναπομείναντων μελών των Screaming Trees που συνόδευσαν την ανάρτησή τους με στίχους από το κλασικό "Strange Out Here".
