William Basinski is an important producer of ambient music. The classically trained musician has been working with experimental media for over 30 years. Employing obsolete technology and analogue tape loops, his haunting and melancholy soundscapes explore the temporal nature of life and resound with the reverberations of memory and the mystery of time.
The basis for his most recently released album "Lamentations" (2020) is provided by old tape loops. Relics from the 70s and 80s, which Basinski himself recorded in Brooklyn and puts into a present context.
